Bubba Watson AdoptionWhen Bubba Watson won the Masters on Sunday, American completely fell for the unorthodox winner with no formal golf training. But Watson especially caught our attention because he is a new adoptive father!

Bubba and his wife Angie had been trying to adopt for more than two years. Although they were close several times, the adoptions fell through each time.

But during the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill last month, they got another call. The adoption came together quickly, and they took the baby, a one-month-old boy they named Caleb, into custody after Bay Hill.

“I almost pulled out of Bay Hill, but I didn’t,” Watson said to CBS Sports. “I finished fourth, and then Monday morning, we were down in south Florida picking up little Caleb. I can’t wait to get back.”

Because of ICPC rules, the couple who resides in Arizona, is leasing a home in Florida where their son Caleb was born. Bubba had to leave Angie and Caleb behind in Florida in order to play in the Masters last week. But Angie said she was plenty nervous watching from afar.

“I was trying to feed Caleb, put him down for a nap,” she told Golf Channel. “I feel like everything just went so fast.”

In the end, Watson won a sudden-death playoff at the end of the tournament with an amazing shot.

The Kansas City Star reported after the tournament that Bubba said, “I can’t wait to get back… I haven’t changed a diaper yet.” But just a few days later, he tweeted that he’d done just that: “Changed my 1st 2 diapers today!! #MastersChamp”

Watson is clearly loving his new role as a father! And the green jacket doesn’t hurt either!
