My husband and I are Caucasian. We have three sons by birth - 18, almost 17, and 11 1/2. We have one adopted daughter, 14 1/2, and African American/Native American. She "came home" at the age of 4 months. She has been a joy to raise. I would LOVE to adopt again!

We are a caucasion couple who have two children both adopted. Alex is Caucasion and almost 5 years old. Hannah is African American and is 13 months. We have had a wonderful experience having children of both races and meeting all the people who want to know our story. When our daughter was 2 months old, our son said "Momma is our baby a brown baby?' I said yes. And then he said "I thought so, she sure is pretty." He, as well as everyone else, has loved her since day one. I expect thay we will have some issues arise as she gets older but we are excited about that and the learning experiences our family will have because of it. It's already been a great adventure just figuring out the hair and how to care for it. Would love to chat with anyone about transracial joys/issues. Kristin nitsirkr@yahoo.com

My son is 5 yrs old. I was blessed to adopt him from birth via foster care. My race is black. He is puerto rican/filipino. I would love to know, meet and posible mingle with other parents with similar race mixtures so that my son can see that there are others in this world like our family. He is starting to ask questions and we as his family want to make life living with a black family a normal loving experience for him. I want him to remain positive and proud of his family regardless of race.
