For the past year, I have been raising my daughter alone. I had considered adoption even before I had my daughter, but I allowed the opinions and feelings of others keep me from making the decision that I knew was best. I finally decided to begin the adoption process when I realized just how unhappy I had become. While everyone around me was so happy, I was not.
After making my decision and beginning the adoption process, everyone around me wanted nothing to do with me. However, I knew in my heart that I was making the right decision for my daughter and myself. My adoption specialist helped me every step of the way. She made my decision so much easier.
After choosing a family and exchanging emails with them, I knew that I had made the right choice. After meeting the adoptive couple, I was certain that my daughter will still be loved. The transition between me and the adoptive family has made me feel a lot better. I love my daughter and I know that this decision was what was best for her.
