Dennis, Melissa and Olivia's Adoption Story

A thank you to American Adoptions and the entire staff. We are so
grateful for everything you did for us throughout the entire adoption
process.

After struggling with infertility for 3 years, we made the decision to
adopt in April 2004. We just wanted to be parents, genetics didn't
matter to us. We contacted American Adoptions in July 2004 and began
working on the paperwork and profile. We were activated in December
2004.

We prepared ourselves for a long wait. Imagine our surprise when we
received a call in March 2005, just 3 months later, that we had been
chosen by a birthmother! She told us all the information and I was just
shaking. I immediately called Dennis and he was so excitd. The
situation was just perfect, too good to be true.

We accepted the match and talked with the birthmother a few weeks later.
She wasn't due until September 30, 2005, so we had a long wait. We
were very fortunate to have the time though as we were able to meet our
birthmother, attend the doctor's appointments and we were even given
ultrasound photos of our daughter!

We traveled 2 days before the due date to await our daughter's arrival.
She was induced and born on her due date and we were present for the
birth. It was the most amazing thing we have ever witnessed. We spent
the whole weekend in the hospital getting to know our daughter and her
birthmother. We cherish that time together and are glad to have
pictures to share with our daughter.

We had a perfect adoption experience, and we never imagined it going so
well. Our daughter is perfect and beautiful. We know she was meant to
be ours and are forever grateful to the gift we have been given.

Thank you American Adoptions for fulfilling our dreams. Adoption is the
best thing we ever did!
