Matt & Dori
Adoption is near to our hearts. We believe that every child is a gift and we are looking forward to experiencing the joys of parenthood. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We have lots of love to give and adventures to take. We know this is a difficult decision and we honor your courage and will support you the entire journey. We hope to be considered by you and look forward to what lies ahead.
Our Leisure Time

We are both active people and like many of the same hobbies and activities. We both enjoying being outside especially in the beautiful Pennsylvania springtime, summer months, and brisk fall months. We spend a lot of time camping and hiking. We go camping at least once or twice a month and take a week-long trip during each summer to a new place to explore. During the winter months, we enjoy being season ticket holders to the local minor league hockey team where we attend games multiple times a month. Winter camping is also on the list of adventures and it's even better if snow is on the ground! We enjoy watching hockey, baseball, football, and auto racing. We love going to our favorite creperie and trying new restaurants. When we aren't camping or at a hockey game, we spend lots of time with our best friends, Matt and Kat, and their daughter Mariah, who is also our god daughter. Along with camping, hiking and hockey, Dori enjoys spending time with family and friends and of course, Sadie and Matt. She enjoys going bowling, mini golfing, catfishing, and riding rollercoasters.
Along with spending time with Dori and Sadie, Matt enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and bowling. These activities are ones he shares with his dad.
How We Met

We have been friends since high school and met in the marching band. During our years at high school, Matt would walk Dori to class, and we would also be together at the football games and weekend competitions.
After high school, Dori went off to college and Matt started working with his dad in the construction business. We kept in touch and talked a lot. Matt invited Dori to a hockey game and that is where everything started. We enjoyed doing things together as often as we could, which would include going bowling, mini golfing, and going on day trips to different places.
Our Family Traditions

Family means a lot to us, and we try to be with them as much as we can. All of our parents live close and are involved in our lives. We share all the major holidays with our parents and close family members. Dori loves Christmas and we have a few traditions that we do every year. Right after Thanksgiving, we take Sadie and go with Dori's mom to cut down our live Christmas tree. By the end of the week, we have our tree in our front picture window adorned with shiny lights and ornaments. On one of the weekends in early December, we load up Sadie and drive around to look at Christmas lights. We also make an annual trip to our nearest Bass Pro shop and get Sadie's picture taken with Santa. On Christmas Day, we get to spend time with Dori's mom at her house for a wonderful Christmas breakfast. Then we get to see Matt's mom, stepdad, his sister and her family, and their Nana for Christmas lunch. After their house we travel to Matt's dad and stepmom's house to enjoy some time with them.
As much as we love camping, we get to share that with Matt's sister and her family. We plan an annual camping trip, and it gives us time to spend with our three nephews. There are many laughs, s'mores, and fishing competitions when we are all together.

Our Extended Families

Being around family is very important to us. We enjoy having every holiday together since our parents all live within 15 minutes of us. They are all excited to become grandparents and to babysit.
Dori was adopted at birth, along with a younger sister that lives in Arkansas. Dori and her mother are very close. They share their love of Christmas and baking cookies together. Sadie gets to see her "Nana" almost every day as she comes to visit with her while Dori and Matt are working. Sadie always knows she gets a special treat when Nana comes over!

Matt's dad and stepmom are a big part of our lives. We are always over there sitting around their firepit and playing cornhole. Matt and his dad share their love of golf, hunting, and fishing. His stepmom is a wonderful cook and we both enjoy having family dinners at their house. We can't say "Grandpa or Grandma" to Sadie unless we are going to see them, since she gets so excited.
Matt's mom and stepdad host lots of summer pool parties with family and friends at their house. Sadie enjoys going to "Grammies" house to swim. We know we won't leave hungry since his stepdad is the grill master. Every Saturday, we will be there cheering on Penn State football.
Matt's sister and family live in Virginia and we try to see them as often as possible. We plan a camping trip every year and love getting to fish and hang out with our nephews. They have three little boys that we love very much!
Our House and Neighborhood

We love our town! We live in a suburb of a major city in Pennsylvania with lots of playgrounds and parks close by. On Saturdays, we frequent the local coffee shop and then head to the local farmers market for homemade dog treats and fresh produce. We have many state parks close that we love to hike and camp at. During the summer we frequent the big amusement park and have season tickets to a minor league hockey team during the winter months.
Almost ten years ago, we purchased our ranch home with the hopes of one day being able to raise a family here. We have plenty of space inside and out. During Christmas time, we put our tree with lots of lights in front of our picture window. Our yard is very spacious with lots of room to run and tall trees that produce shade from the summer sun. We enjoy grilling out and playing cornhole with friends, while Sadie runs around with her ball.
Our neighborhood is diverse with all the residents that live here. We have all ages that live around us and see most of them while we are out taking Sadie for a walk. On the weekends during the summer, a local ice cream truck drives around selling softserve.
On brisk autumn nights you can hear the local high school football game since the stadium is down the road. We have minimal car traffic so lots of the neighborhood kids will ride their bikes up and down the streets.
From Us to You

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for looking at our profile and learning about our story. We cannot even imagine what you are going through and the courage that it takes to make this decision. If we are chosen by you, just know that we will love and cherish them. We want to be there for support for you as well and know that we are open to communication through updates, letters, photos, and future visits. Sharing our little moments with you is our way of thanking you for allowing us to experience parenthood and all of the joy you have brought us.
We have been married for over ten years and have been friends for over twenty. Matt proposed in front of a waterfall at one of our favorite Pennsylvania state parks, which we have visited with Sadie, and will visit with our future child. Dori appreciates how Matt is her rock, a strong provider, and how he is so loving and patient with any situation. Matt values Dori's passion for people, her ability to turn any situation into a positive one, and how loving and nurturing she is.
We share so much love and joy with each other, our sweet Sadie, and all of our family and friends. Sadie has been our "daughter" for almost eight years, and she has taught us a lot and kept us on our toes. Ever since we started talking about our future, we always envisioned of being parents and raising a family. Facing years of trying and miscarriages, we realized that we could not have our own biological children. During those hard times, we took time to pray and just be with each other. We felt that we were called to adopt and with that being so familiar to us, especially to Dori.
Dori was adopted at birth and gives her birth mother praise for making that tough decision and to thank her for finding such a loving family for her to be adopted into. We look forward to celebrating our own child's adoption story from day one and reinforce the idea that being adopted is something to be proud of and to tell them where they came from.
Our future child will not only be loved by us and their big fur sister, Sadie, but by all of our family and friends. When we told them that we were adopting, everyone was so happy for our news and for us to be expanding our little family. Our support system includes Dori's mom, Matt's Mom and Stepdad, Matt's Dad and Stepmom, Matt's sister and family, tons of uncles, aunts, and cousins as well of some of our best friends who are considered family. There is plenty of love to go around! They will have many role models to help show strong work ethic and good character along with experiencing patience, love, and joy. We will also not let you be forgotten and will constantly remind them how much you have sacrificed and love them.
We want to thank you for your consideration, and we hope that we can share this journey with you.
With deepest respect and love,
Matt & Dori
