Our Most Memorable Moment

Morgan and Duke after a Duck Hunt

One of Chappell and Morgan's most memorable moments was their wedding day. Being surrounded by all of the people they love in one place was a feeling they will never forget. From lifelong friends and family members to childhood friends they had known for years, it was incredibly special to have so many important people gathered together to celebrate with them. Several loved ones even traveled across the country to be there, which made the day feel even more meaningful. Looking back, they are filled with gratitude for the love and support that surrounded them and for the memories they shared with the people who helped shape their lives.

One of Morgan's most memorable moments was watching Duke, his Black Labrador, retrieve his very first duck after months of training and hard work. The experience represented not only the time and dedication he had invested in teaching Duke to become a waterfowl retriever, but also the special bond they had built together. Seeing everything come together in that moment was incredibly rewarding and remains one of his favorite memories.

What Makes Us Unique

Friends at the Lake House for Fourth of July

What makes us unique is the way we value experiences and meaningful time together over material things. Whether it is attending a local community event, traveling to a new place, or simply spending time with family and friends at home, we believe the memories created together are what matter most. We try to make even ordinary moments feel special and intentional.

That mindset was especially important in Chappell’s childhood and is something we now value together as a couple. We enjoy creating thoughtful traditions, celebrating milestones in meaningful ways, and making the people around us feel loved and included. Whether we are hosting friends for dinner, planning a gathering, or spending time with family, we put a lot of care into creating warm and welcoming experiences. We hope to bring that same energy into parenting by creating a home where a child feels celebrated, included, and deeply loved. We truly believe that the little things often become the biggest memories.

Our Pets

Ryder and Duke with the Grinch

Chappell and Morgan's pets are an important part of their family. Duke, a Black Labrador, is 12 years old and has been with them for nearly their entire relationship. He has shared every stage of their life together, from a small apartment to a rental home and eventually their first home. Morgan trained Duke as a waterfowl retriever, and they have spent countless days hunting together since Duke was a puppy. Their bond is incredibly special, and Duke is undoubtedly Morgan's best friend. Though known for his hunting abilities, Duke has a gentle, calm nature and loves being around people.

Ryder, a 9-year-old Rottweiler/Labrador mix, is the self-appointed king of the house and the biggest cuddle enthusiast. He believes every couch belongs to him and is always eager to curl up next to anyone willing to share a seat. Ryder loves spending time outdoors, whether he is soaking up the sun in the backyard or playing in the water at the family lake house. Together, Duke and Ryder bring companionship, laughter, and unconditional love to their home, and Chappell and Morgan cannot imagine life without them.

Our Extended Families

Chappell and Her Dad at Church

Morgan’s parents live in Savannah and his brother and sister-in-law live in High Point, NC. When we get together, we love exploring local attractions, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Morgan’s family has a special connection to adoption because his father and aunt were both adopted as babies, so they fully understand and support our journey to grow our family through adoption.

Morgan, His Dad and Duke

Chappell’s dad lives in Newnan, and she is also very close with her aunt and uncle, in Eclectic, AL and cousins and their family in Peachtree City, GA. Family gatherings usually mean cooking meals, visiting museums and art galleries, and spending holidays together. Attending Braves baseball games is also something we love doing!

Thanksgiving and Christmas are always special because everyone enjoys hosting holidays which means there are many family events to look forward to! One favorite tradition is gathering at Chappell's dad’s house at Christmas for cookie decorating and playing Christmas songs on the piano.

What makes our families unique is that we truly value experiences and making memories together. Whether it is baseball games, festivals, concerts, attending the theatre, museums, or community events, we love spending quality time together and creating traditions that bring everyone closer.

Both of our families are very close and excited to welcome a child!

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We live in Georgia in a welcoming college town community that is very family-oriented and full of opportunities for children to learn, play, and grow. There are always activities happening around town, from sporting events and theater performances to museums, parks, and even a local zoo. Throughout the year, our community hosts arts and crafts festivals, Fourth of July fireworks, Christmas light displays, farmers markets, and more. Many of our close friends also have children ranging from newborns to teenagers, so there are plenty of chances for friendships and playdates. We love spending weekends at the local mixed-use park area where families gather to enjoy restaurants, shops, playgrounds, and community events.

Our home sits on just over an acre and has four bedrooms, an open living space, and a large, fenced backyard that gives plenty of room to play and explore. One of our favorite places is the backyard patio where we relax with family and friends, while our two dogs, Duke and Ryder, play in the yard. We both enjoy gardening and spending time outdoors. Chappell loves caring for her perennial flower garden, while Morgan enjoys grilling and smoking food and tending to his fruit trees and blueberry bushes. We can easily picture a child playing outside, helping in the garden, and growing up surrounded by love, laughter, and an active community.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We know that if you are here, you may be facing one of the most difficult decisions of your life. While we cannot fully understand what you are experiencing, we want you to know that we deeply respect the love, courage, and strength it takes to consider adoption. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to introduce ourselves.

We have been married for more than ten years and have built a life rooted in love, friendship, family, and community. We've learned that some of life's greatest memories come from ordinary moments made special, whether it's gathering around the dinner table, spending a weekend at the lake, celebrating holidays with family, or simply laughing together after a long day. Those are the moments we've dreamed of sharing with a child. For years, we've found ourselves imagining a little hand reaching for ours, an extra seat at family dinners, afternoons at the ballpark hoping to catch a foul ball or applauding from the audience at a dance recital.

More than anything, we don't dream about who a child will become. We dream about helping them discover who they already are. Whether that means spending time outdoors learning to hunt, fish, or work on a woodworking project alongside Morgan, or discovering a love for art, dance, theater, or another creative outlet with Chappell, we promise to encourage whatever interests they discover along the way. We believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, opportunities to try new things, and parents who delight in every new interest, every accomplishment, and every lesson learned along the way. We have also been incredibly fortunate to be part of our friends' children's lives as they've grown up. Those experiences have shown us the joy, responsibility, and privilege of parenthood. Watching them has shown us that parenting isn't about creating perfect moments; it's about showing up every day with patience, consistency, and unconditional love. We are surrounded by a wonderfully diverse, fun-loving group of family and friends who have supported us throughout this journey and are eagerly waiting to welcome another child into the group.

If you choose us, your story will always be an important part of the story we share as a family. We believe every adoption story begins with love, and we want the child to grow up knowing the incredible courage and selflessness behind your decision. We will always speak of you with honesty, respect, and gratitude. We are committed to sending letters and pictures so you can watch the child grow. We are also open to emails, phone calls, and future visits. We understand that every adoption relationship is unique, and we hope to build one that brings you comfort while always keeping the child's best interests at heart. As life changes, we promise to approach that relationship with compassion, flexibility, and open communication.

We cannot promise that life will always be easy, but we can promise this: the child will always know they are deeply loved, encouraged to be exactly who they are, and surrounded by people who believe in them. They will grow up in a home where they are safe, celebrated, and reminded every day that they belong.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. No matter where your journey leads, we hope you find peace in knowing there are families who recognize the incredible strength it takes to make this decision. If you choose us, we will spend the rest of our lives honoring the trust you have placed in us by loving the child wholeheartedly, embracing the privilege of being their parents, and never taking for granted the extraordinary gift you have given our family.

With gratitude,

Morgan & Chappell
