What it Means to be Parents

Our Beautiful Family Sitting on Our Front Porch

For us, being parents means giving our whole hearts through unconditional love, support, guidance, stability, creating a safe environment and making sacrifices so that they can have the best life possible. We also believe that a lot of fun and laughter is vital, as well as open, honest and kind communication. We will always be there for our child and provide lots of loving patience, structure and care.

We are so excited to watch a child grow, smile, learn new things, and reach important milestones. We look forward to creating cherished memories, celebrating holidays, birthdays and seeing the world through our child's eyes. We dream of the day where we experience our child's first word, teach them to swim, watch them participate in school events, set out Christmas cookies together for Santa, go on vacations together and so much more! Growing our family through adoption means everything to us.

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We really love our neighborhood and our home is located within walking distance to a park, library, pool, farmer's market and a quaint Main Street with cute diners, an ice cream shop, craft store, a children's theater, pinball arcade and much more. Our town was named one of the "Best Main Streets" in the country by USA Today. The streets have tree-lined sidewalks and there are always kids out riding their bikes and families walking their dogs. We're very lucky to be able to walk to so much while still living in a suburb. We're also a short drive from the city, where we enjoy going to baseball, hockey and football games. We're in one of the best school districts in the city and a child will have incredible opportunities.

Our home was built in 1920 and has been completely renovated. We have lots of space, 3 floors with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms plus an office. Our backyard is fenced in with lots of grass for playing. We love having summer meals at our table on our back deck and we also project movies in our yard and make s'mores by the fire! We love spending time cooking meals in our kitchen. We've also been known to turn our dining room table into a ping pong table! We think our home and neighborhood are a wonderful place for a child to grow up.

Our Extended Families

Christmas Day With Family

In Pennsylvania we often spend time with Steve's mom who is the sweetest Grandma to Steve's daughter, Blake. She's really silly, loving and fun. She is so excited to have another Grandchild and can't wait to meet this child. We spend many holidays with Steve's Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. We make a big Italian food feast on Christmas Day, exchange gifts and enjoy the snowy holiday by the fire.

Jenny With Her Four Siblings

We also spend lots of time with Jenny's brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law. We have Monopoly game nights, BBQs, holiday celebrations and go to sporting events together. We fly to California often to visit the rest of Jenny's family, which include 2 sisters and her brother (who was adopted by Jenny's Dad when he was 6 months). Jenny's Dad is now married to a lovely woman who has 3 adult children and we have all become close, making our family very diverse- along with Italian, Polish, Slovakian and Syrian heritage we also have family members that are African American, Native American (The Mescalero Apache Tribe), Mexican and Filipino.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We can only imagine the love and strength it takes to consider an adoption plan for your child. We deeply respect you and are truly grateful you are considering our family. We’re Steve and Jenny. We’ve been married for six years and, together with Steve’s daughter, Blake, we’ve built a home rooted in love, laughter, and support. Jenny has helped raise Blake since she was seven years old and has had the joy of watching her become the kind and confident young woman she is today.

As a family, we love sharing meals, movie nights, baking cookies, playing games, and enjoying time in our neighborhood. These everyday moments are the heart of our home. We live in a charming town just outside Pittsburgh where children ride bikes and families gather at the ffarmer's market. We are within walking distance of the library, playground, swimming pool, and Main Street with an ice cream shop, a children’s theater, and family-run businesses. We already imagine stroller walks, library story time, and watching a child discover the world around them.

Steve has been a devoted father to Blake from the beginning of her life. He is a patient, involved dad who teaches, listens, supports, and shows up consistently. Since Jenny first entered Blake's life she has always been there for her and loved her unconditionally. One of the most meaningful parts of starting this adoption journey has been seeing Blake prepare to become a big sister. She has helped organize baby items, set up the nursery, and fill it with books. She has been dreaming of the day she will have a sibling to love and protect.

Our path to adoption began after a medical challenge and years of infertility. While that chapter was difficult, it ultimately led us to adoption, which feels like the right path for our family. We have also been inspired by close friends who have built their families through adoption and the deep love in their homes. We are ready and excited to grow our family in this way.

We recognize that adoption is about honoring your family as well as growing ours. If you choose us, your child will always know their story and the love that brought our families together. We are committed to listening, learning, and celebrating their background and identity, and surrounding them with people, books, experiences, and traditions that help them feel proud of who they are.

We deeply respect your role in your child’s life. If you are open to it, we would love to maintain contact through an open adoption, including sending letters and photos each year so you can see your child growing and thriving. We would be honored to share updates in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. Our families are just as excited as we are. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends are ready to welcome this child with open arms. We feel very fortunate to have such a strong support system, and we know your child will grow up surrounded by people who care deeply for them.

If you choose our family, we promise to love your child with our whole hearts, guide them with patience and care, encourage them to be exactly who they are, and provide a home filled with warmth, laughter, and stability. We will honor their story and never take for granted the privilege of being their parents.

Thank you for considering our family. We are truly grateful, and we hope these words have given you a sense of the love, stability, and care that would surround your child every day.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Steve & Jenny
