We have a lot of fun together and enjoy trying new things. Last year for Christmas Trey gave Christie a glass blowing experience where we made drinking glasses and a vase. For our 8 year anniversary the traditional gift is pottery and we took a "make your own mug" class. We have a 1957 blue truck and enjoy going to classic car shows. Trey always tells the parents their kid can sit behind the wheel to get a picture, apparently the Little Blue Truck book series is popular. The horn on the truck is always a hit regardless of age. We have a small bass boat that is fun for boat rides, beaching on a lake or river to swim and fishing. We love beach trips - listening to the waves, walking on the beach and collecting seashells. We also enjoy trips to the mountains taking hikes and soaking in the scenery. We listen to music not a specific genre as we like all types. We watch football and have a fantasy league that is a lot of fun. Christie loves flowers and gardening. Trey relaxes with the Madden football game.

Our hope is having a child to share our lives with. Many activities we envision that make our hearts smile are making pancakes and cookies, blanket forts in the living room, swimming, fishing, cabin camping at state parks, building sandcastles, playing in the yard, reading books, watching cartoons, art projects, playgrounds, fun vacations, the list is endless.

Christie About Trey: I love his faith and his smile and his hugs. I love how he makes me feel. Trey is smart, fun and caring. I admire his creativity. He is a contractor and has amazing concepts and ideas that homeowners appreciate. Feeling lucky to have his creativity around the house. I admire that whatever he puts his mind to he works hard to accomplish. I respect his honesty and loyalty. I also love that he is a grill master. Trey is thoughtful and has a big heart along with the capacity to make you melt like butter.

Trey About Christie: My wife is the most caring person that I know. She has always put others first and would do anything for the ones she loves. Christie strives to be the best in all aspects and works very hard on all tasks. Dinners are great, the house is always clean and you're always told how much you mean to her. These are all things that I admire, love and respect about my wife. A child would be the biggest blessing to us and I know she would be the best mom. It has been a dream of ours and I know she cannot wait for this chapter in her life.

Our fur-babies are wonderful. We have 2 dogs, Chloe (5) and Phoebe (1.5 yrs old). We love Love. It is a great feeling to give and receive unconditional love. They bring so much companionship and joy to our lives in many different ways. We love their different personalities. While they both have the same basic needs they have their own individual needs as well. It doesn't matter what kind of day you have had, they will immediately make you smile inside and out. They are fun to play with, we play ball every day and Phoebe has a bungee ball hanging from the tree she enjoys. We take walks in the neighborhood or drive to a park for different scenery. They give us a sense of purpose and an outlet for the care and love we have to share. They are great snugglers and it is more than heartwarming.

We also have a salt water fish tank. It is beautiful and relaxing. We have a starfish, shrimp, small snails and crabs, 3 fish named Love Bug, Woody and Sally along with coral. The snails actually move pretty quickly!

We live in Virginia where the state bird is a cardinal, the state tree is a dogwood and the state motto is, "Virginia is for Lovers," and we agree!

We live in a three-bedroom, ranch-style home in a suburban neighborhood with a large, fenced-in yard. Our neighborhood consists of all ages. We are very fortunate as our area has many parks and recreation areas to choose from. It depends on what type of playground you want that day (swings/sandbox/monkey bars), a leisurely walk, fish in the pond, petting zoo, paved/unpaved or more nature oriented.

We researched schools in our area and was happy to learn we have top-ranked and highly rated schools from elementary through high school.

Our location is amazing as there is always something going on. We live within a few hours of the mountains and beaches. We are not too far from lakes, rivers and state parks.

Our immediate area supports a multitude of interests, such as: swimming, horseback riding, indoor play and adventure parks, multiple tournament and multi-purpose fields for sports and a large variety of outlets centered around the arts. There are also parades and festivals throughout the year. Fall is Christie's favorite with hayrides and the pumpkin patch. During Christmas there is a festival of lights at a botanical garden that is amazing, as well as a drive-through light show at an event park. We usually start the Christmas season with these events to beat the crowds.

We are fortunate to have a loving family. Christie's mother and step-father, father and sister all live very close to us. Trey’s mother lives near a beach and we visit each other at least once a year. Trey's father and step-mother live 1.5 hours from us and we see each other frequently. His brother lives a state away. We take turns visiting each other and get together multiple times a year. Trey's cousins' family is very close, as well as our extended family consisting of friends that we each met in middle school. A new addition to our family is more than welcomed. Grandparents can't wait to grandparent! Everyone loves children and can't wait to be aunts, uncles and cousins. We value our family and feel very fortunate as there is a lot of love, support and fun times.

We go to parks, festivals, out to eat, putt-putt, museums, play yard games, board games, cards, tie dye shirt making, pontoon boat excursions, etc. Traditions are being around family for Christmas and Thanksgiving. The holiday meal has turkey and all the fixings and desserts. Christie, her mother and sister always bake cookies at Christmas time. Every year we try to make a sports game our nephew is playing in and do something special with our nieces as they don't have games for us to attend.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and opportunity for us to be parents. We imagine this selfless decision is accompanied by many different thoughts and feelings. We are unable to have children of our own and this will be a dream come true for us.

We are Trey and Christie and have been married for 9 years. We met in the fall of 2013 and got married in 2016. Being together for so long has taught us many things about love and relationships. Before we got married we had very meaningful conversations about what we wanted in life. We both always wanted children and having a family is still very important to us.

We truly believe adoption is amazing and want the child to appreciate you and your sacrifices and realize you loved them so much that you only wanted what you felt was best for them. We plan on reading books regarding adoption, such as A is for Always to introduce the topic at a very young age and take questions along the way. We will send letters and share pictures throughout each year. It is our understanding some biological parents welcome this and some do not. We will ultimately respect your decision. We want you to know how everything is and keep you in the loop with milestones and life in general.

We are kind, loving, patient and understanding people. We have a lot of fun together and want to share our zest for life. Being a parent is a journey and we are eager to experience everything from the dirty diapers, to the terrible twos, to the why stage, to pre-K, to elementary - high school and our goal is for them to go to college or trade school whatever their preference is. We envision everything we do now but with a bundle of joy at our side. Correction - we envision doing even more. Looking forward to waking up early and watching cartoons, going to parks more frequently, making fun happy food (fruit face pancakes), reading children books, dancing, playing, etc. We are excited for the opportunity to have our lives change in such a meaningful way. Our intent as parents is to provide a stable, happy, loving and safe home. Simply put we want to grow together having a lot of fun along the way. We will love and always want what is best for the child from the very beginning.

We realize how fortunate we are to have a supportive and loving family. While sharing our news to adopt the sentiment has been: what took so long, how can we help, and discussing joys and fun times to come. In sharing our desire to adopt we found out a couple near and dear is trying to have children and we are excited about the possibility to have children around the same age. It was also nice to hear how everyone feels we will both make great parents because that is how we feel about ourselves. We have a lot of love to offer and want to share our lives.
