Week 29
Third Trimester

What happens to me?

As your internal organs become more crowded by your uterus and baby the movements that you feel will probably begin to change around this time. Since space is becoming limited, the baby’s movements become smaller.

The majority of discomfort you may be feeling comes from your legs, your back, and how much air you can take breathing. The best ways to deal with these discomforts are fairly simple and straightforward.

  • Excellent posture
  • Good nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Rest

How much will I be showing?

Your uterus is approximately 3 ˝ - 4 inches from your belly button. Your total weight gain will probably be somewhere between 19 and 25 pounds.

What happens to baby?

At about this time, the baby can open its eyes and turn its head. The fat layers are forming on the baby and the fingernails appear. The baby is also starting to regulate its own body temperature to a certain extent. The bone marrow is now in charge of production of the red blood cells.

How big is the baby?

The baby weighs about 2 pounds 9 ounces and measures nearly 10 1/2 inches from crown to rump and almost 17 inches head to toe.

Tip of the Week

While it may take a little effort, good posture can help alleviate lower back aches and pains.
