Maria’s Scholarship Essay

Adoption Story - Maria’s Scholarship Essay

When I was a child, I always had aspirations to be successful in the future. I graduated high school with support from only myself. I did no have any family support. I made it my goal and responsibility to get my diploma and walk across the graduation stage. I had always had a dream to become an Interior Designer. I then made some bad choices in my life which put my dreams at a stand still. I thought I wouldn’t amount to anything. Once I placed with American Adoptions, I realized with the support of my adoption specialist and adoptive family that I can be anything I put my mind to. Then, my dreams started to come back and I was ready to go forward with my life. I want so much to get a great education and have a career, not just a job. I want to be able to provide for my son and be a positive role model in his life. The school I want to attend is wonderful and I would love to pursue my goals for the future. I want to be able to say one day, “Yeah, I graduated from college too!” with a proud look of achievement on my face.
