Michael & Elisabeth
Hey there, so glad you found us! As we begin this adoption journey, we are filled with love and gratitude for what we hope to be a part of. We believe adoption is an opportunity to partner to create something beautiful and special, and we are honored to be considered in such an important decision. We hope our profile helps you get to know us and learn about our lives!
Our Leisure Time

We love to explore and have fun no matter the season. We enjoy spending our time visiting zoos and aquariums, attending concerts, visiting local restaurants, and finding classes to learn new things together. During our off time at home, we love to cook together, play competitive board games, and catch up on the latest movies and shows.
During his spare time, Michael enjoys games on the computer and improving his amateur woodworking skills in the garage. He has been enjoying learning new techniques as he builds furniture items for our home, and Elisabeth keeps him busy with requests! Elisabeth in her leisure time runs a small Etsy shop and makes baby onesies for military families. When she is not making items for friends and family, she enjoys spending time baking things like cakes, cookies and bread.
While we love to take vacations and explore our community, we also have a lot of fun at home. We enjoy going for long walks at night around our neighborhood with our dog and like to grill out on the weekends. We do our best to spend intentional time together throughout the week in order to connect. We recently have taken up gardening and have enjoyed planting beautiful flowers in the front yard and our vegetable planter garden has been wildly successful for our first try!
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Michael About Elisabeth: Elisabeth is an incredibly caring and selfless individual. She takes any opportunity she can to brighten someone's day, whether that be by writing a handwritten card or baking cookies. I love how empathetic and nurturing she is and after a stressful day at work, she can always make me smile. When Elisabeth commits herself to projects, her perfectionism always comes out! I am constantly impressed by her attention to detail, dedication and thoughtfulness in everything she does. I can't wait to see Elisabeth be a mother and can already picture her teaching our child how to garden, bake, and paint.

Elisabeth About Michael: Michael's hard working and no-quit attitude is something I deeply admire about him. He puts so much heart and dedication into everything he does, and that passion is contagious and encourages everyone around him to want to be better. In his free time, you can typically find Michael watching videos or listening to podcasts to help grow his knowledge about new and interesting topics. I am inspired by the work that Michael puts in daily to be better than he was yesterday and know that he can achieve anything he puts his mind to. I know that he will be an incredible father who will share his love of learning and wonder of the world around us with our future children.
Our Pup, Sabot

Pets play an important role in our lives and once we got married, we knew right away that we wanted to get a puppy. Sabot (pronounced "Say-Bow") is our yellow American Labrador who we absolutely adore. The very minute we laid eyes on him it was love at first sight! Sabot was the runt of his litter, so he is small in stature but big in personality.
We consider Sabot a part of the family and couldn't imagine life without him. He has the sweetest and most loving disposition and can cure anyone's bad day. His favorite activities include napping with a cozy blanket, sock stealing, and playing with his endless collection of tennis balls. Sabot is always the life of the party at BBQs and is in heaven anytime he gets to play with children. We can already picture all of the fun our future children will have with him, and can't wait to see all of the love, fun, and cuddles they will surely share.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in the beautiful state of Indiana and live in a bustling town with lots to do. On the weekends we like to catch a Notre Dame football game (Go Irish!) or drive up to Lake Michigan since we are right near the Michigan state line. There are museums, farmers markets, a zoo, and a riverwalk to enjoy as well. We are two hours away from Chicago and four away from Indianapolis and like to take advantage of the cities for concerts and shopping.
Our home is in an upscale apartment complex that has an incredible cabana, pool, leisure area, and dog park. We have a great view of three small ponds where we often see ducks and beavers and we enjoy walking around the property at night with our pup. The neighborhood likes to host seasonal events such as chili cook-offs, joint garage sales, and holiday decorating contests. We love the area we live in because it is so safe and family friendly.
The living room is our favorite room in the house; it is the heart of the home and is where we gather as a family after a long day with either competitive board games, cooking a homemade meal together, or a relaxing night watching movies or reality television. We have also been working on the soon-to-be nursery! While putting in the labor of love, it has been special to think about a little one enjoying it someday.
Our Extended Families

We both come from very close, tight knit families and spending time with them is something we look forward to all throughout the year. Michael has two sisters- one older, and one younger and he has extended family in Wyoming. Elisabeth comes from a rather large family of two girls and two boys, and has over twenty aunts and uncles, and twenty-five cousins. Getting everyone together is no small feat, but so much fun when we can make it happen.

The majority of our immediate family live in different parts of Colorado, and Elisabeth's parents recently moved to Florida. We love to visit both states and go on hikes, visit the beach/lake, try new restaurants, go to the movies, and bake together. We are all a very competitive bunch, so TopGolf and go karting are a group favorite to see who can get bragging rights for the day. We also have a very tight knit group of friends we have made through the military that we visit often. We think of them as family and we are a big part of their children's lives. Whether we are meeting up with friends or family, there is sure to be lots of fun and laughter!
All of our family and friends are so excited to see our family grow and have been incredibly supportive of our decision to adopt. They cannot wait to have a little one to play games with, read books with, to shop for and to teach new things to. We look forward to future trips to the beach and to the zoo and know that our future child will surely be spoiled with love!
From Us to You

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our family profile! We can't imagine the difficult decision you are facing, but please know that we admire your strength and courage and are praying for you. We are incredibly honored that you might consider us to be your child's parents. We hope that learning more about us gives you the confidence and comfort needed to make the best decision for you and your child.
Our story began in the fall of 2016 when we were set up by close mutual friends while living on opposite sides of the country. Michael was stationed in North Carolina while Elisabeth was living in Colorado. While Elisabeth was apprehensive about the distance at first, Michael booked a flight to take her on a date to show his intentions. Early on we bonded over our shared interests, love for family, and our Christian faiths. Through hundreds of hours of Facetime calls and lots of weekend visits, we built a beautiful relationship built on communication, trust, and friendship. We were married in 2018 and since then have created a life we love. We are each other's best friend and biggest cheerleader and are always there for one another no matter what challenge comes our way. We have battled cross-country moves, deployment, and infertility and have only become stronger because of it.
Although we are unable to have biological children, we want to assure you that we are not pursuing adoption as a simple solution to grow our family. We intend on being life-long learners of all things adoption and want to approach everything we do with patience, understanding and an open heart. This child will be the center of everything we do, and we would be honored to give them a loving and safe home that is filled with joy and laughter. We promise to foster their curiosity of the world and support them in whatever they find interest in. Whether it be soccer practice, piano recital, or art classes- we will be there cheering them on.
Currently, Michael works as a Acquisitions Officer in the United States Army. While we are required to move every three years or so due to Michael's occupation, please know this will not affect the stability of our communication and your relationship with your child. Having both been raised in military families, we can each speak to the incredible experiences we were afforded by being able to travel to new places and learn about different cultures. We have traveled to countries and cities that we would not have otherwise had the chance to and have made lifelong friends from all over the world. We look forward to giving a child the most out of life through traveling, education, and meaningful connections.
We hope that through this adoption we can help you maintain a connection with your child in whatever ways you are most comfortable. We would love to share with you your child's growth and experiences through photos, letters, and emails. You will always have a place in our heart, and we promise to give your child every opportunity to explore their story and identity. No matter your level of ongoing contact, your child will always know how much you love them. We will speak openly about adoption in our home and vow to always honor you.
Thank you for considering adoption and considering us as parents for your child. We know that you have a very difficult choice ahead and whatever your decision is will be exactly right for you and your child. You are in our prayers as you navigate this journey. Please know that we are committed and ready to be a safe, loving, and supportive family for your child.
All our love,
Michael & Elisabeth
