Travis & Jackie
Thank you for getting to know our family! We are so honored to walk this journey with you. Our home is joyful and warm and we are more than ready to welcome you and a child into our life. We hope this profile gives you a glimpse into the love (and definitely the laughs) our family has to offer and puts a smile on your face. We look forward to getting to know you!
Why We Chose Adoption
We always knew adoption would be part of how we established or grew our family. Adoption has been a big part of Travis' life. Travis was adopted by his mom, Delia. Delia has been in Travis' life since he was 11 and their bond was immediate. Delia provided the love, support, comfort, and safety that he wished for as a young child. From Travis' adoption experience, we know firsthand how much love adoption can bring to a family.
Additionally, we did not think biological children would be part of our story. Due to a medical condition Jackie experienced when she was younger, our chances of conceiving naturally were relatively slim to none. Knowing this, when we got to the point in our relationship where we talked about children, talking about adoption was easy for both of us. Shortly after we were married, we found out we were pregnant with Ford and it was the most beautiful surprise. We are not able to have any more biological children, but hope and pray to have more children to wrap our arms around, love, and nurture. Not only is our home ready for another set of feet to be running around, are hearts are ready, too.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Travis About Jackie: Jackie is my best friend and she is absolutely the sweetest person I have ever met. She is kind, optimistic, outgoing, strong and has a heart of gold. She has made my life better by allowing me to a part of it. If I had to describe Jackie as a mother in one word I would say "phenomenal." Watching her interact with our son, she is so incredibly involved in whatever he wants to do. Whether it's playing outside or stopping what she is doing to have a quick dance party, she loves to make our son laugh and always makes sure he is enjoying life. Jackie is not only an incredible wife and mother, but she is an incredible human being!
Jackie About Travis: Travis is my absolute favorite person in the world for so many reasons. He is smart, funny, kind, and a great problem solver. His problem solving abilities make him a great board game partner, but a brutal competitor. Travis is also the best dad in the world. No one can make our son laugh like he can. All kids are naturally attracted to Travis, but that is probably because he is just a big kid himself. He loves to laugh and make other people laugh. Travis has the best work ethic and works so hard to provide an amazing life for our family. He can put anyone at ease and is a great listener. I just love him to pieces.
Our Family Traditions
We love traditions in our family! They are all small and silly, but we love them. One of Travis' favorite traditions is his request for cookie cake with extra icing for his birthday. This has been a tradition for over 20 years and if you were to ask Travis, he would tell you cookies are an essential food group. He loves cookies so much, it was only fitting we served cookie cake as the groom's cake at our wedding. Our cookie cake display was such a hit, it was featured on the company's Instagram page!
Similar to most, Christmas is full of traditions in our family. Jackie's family started a pajama swap almost 15 years ago. It has grown and evolved from funny flannel pajamas to the most elaborate and embarrassing onesies you can find. It is so much fun and always makes for a great family picture! Jackie's one request every year is to have as many multi-colored Christmas lights as possible. Even though there is no official prize, our house definitely stands out on our street, in a good way (we think)!
Since we like to travel, we try to find an item on our trips that we can turn into a Christmas ornament. Our tree is now covered in some of our best memories. We also make a picture ornament every year from a fun memory of the year.

Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a neighborhood near a large city in Texas. Our neighborhood has several young families and is culturally diverse. We are less than a mile from a top rated elementary school and two different parks. We are surrounded by one of the largest walking/biking trails in the city which includes a small neighborhood pool. We also live a few miles away from our country club that has three resort-style pools and several family-friendly activities. Being located just outside the heart of the city, we can easily visit fun attraction sites including the zoo, an arboretum, amusement parks, and professional sporting events.
One of the many reasons we love our neighborhood is how close we are to our family and friends. We also feel very fortunate to have great neighbors and enjoy having them over. Our backyard is a meeting ground for everyone to come play, hang out, and bring their dogs. When the weather is nice, and even when it is not nice, there are always kids running around, chalk drawings being made, and dogs playing fetch in our yard. We wouldn't have it any other way!
We live in a three-bedroom home with two giant trees in our front yard, one of which holds a fun swing for kids to swing on. Our trees are also real show stoppers during the holidays because we wrap them with lights. Our house is simple, but sweet, and is always full of laughter.
Our Extended Families
We are so lucky to have family close by. Jackie's parents (Nana and Grandpa) live near a golf course and we see them weekly. Our visits always involve golf cart rides around the neighborhood and walks to a nearby park. Jackie's brother and sister-in-law (Mike and Sara) live in another state. They have four boys and we really enjoy spending time with them. Whether it is playing outside, or playing board games, it is always so much fun when the cousins are together.
Travis' mom (Gigi) lives right down the road so we see her often. She is an amazing cook and we love when she stops by with food. Both Travis' brother (Wyatt) and sister (Harper) are finishing college so we make sure to spend time with them during their breaks. Travis' grandparents (Mimi and Papa) are close by and live in a high rise building that overlooks our city's downtown. We love visiting and playing a fun card game called "Hiney." Gigi and Mimi work in the non-profit industry and are passionate about giving back to the community.
Travis' cousins all have children around the same age and we enjoy visiting them and seeing all the kids play together. We can speak for everyone when we say we cannot wait to add another family member to our crew!
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We hope this little glimpse into our life gives you a feeling of peace and security. We are so honored to be on this journey with you and hope to get to know you soon.
Our story starts about six years ago. We were first introduced to each other through Travis' mom, Delia. Prior to Jackie being a nurse, she worked in the non-profit industry. During what was intended to be a pretty standard business meeting, Jackie was introduced to Delia who immediately insisted she meet her son, Travis. Delia was so sure we were meant to be together that she stopped the meeting to pull out her phone to show Jackie pictures of her son. She made sure to say how much he looks like Aaron Rodgers, and she was right! Fast forward a year from then, we were matched on a dating app and the rest is history. We have been married three wonderful years and we know the best is yet to come.
We always knew, and hoped, adoption would be part of our journey to growing a family. Conversations about future children surfaced early on in our dating life. When Jackie expressed her desire to adopt, Travis chimed in, saying he was adopted. That moment really solidified that we were meant to be. We did not think biological children would be part of our story, in fact, we were told our chances were slim to none. We were blessed with the surprise of a lifetime when we found out we were pregnant with our son, Ford, shortly after we were married. Our son brings so much joy into our life and we know he cannot wait to be a big brother. He is ready to have a best friend for life. We know our hearts have no limit on the amount of love we can offer and we anxiously await for our son to have a sweet brother or sister.
We like to think we make a great parenting team. Jackie, being a nurse, is extremely loving and nurturing, and super patient. Her nursing knowledge also comes in handy when we get sick or injured. Travis is in a sales role and is the absolute best person to be around. He is hilarious, intelligent, and loves kids (they love him, too!).
When we think of our future, our prayer is to have a full and happy home. We pray our children are kind, loving, and happy; that they smile and laugh every day; that they are always willing to help someone in need; and that they find their passion in life. We know much of this comes from the values we instill in them. We will continue to be the absolute best parents we can be by guiding, encouraging, and loving our children endlessly. We promise to be their first teacher and build a strong foundation for a great education. We look forward to letting our children explore their interests and find their passion. We promise to show them as much of the world as we can and encourage them to explore the parts of the world they do not know. We promise to instill in them that God's love knows no bounds. And most importantly, we promise to talk about the incredible sacrifice and act of love you made.
If you are comfortable with it, we would love to have an open adoption with you. We understand this is a relationship that will take time to understand, but we promise to always keep our doors open and will welcome you into our family with loving arms. We look forward to keeping in touch with you through letters, photos, and even visits. Please know we are only a phone call or text message away.
We know you have a difficult decision ahead of you, but please know we are already praying for you. Thank you!
