Andy & Christan

Hi there! We are best friends, we laugh a lot, and family is everything to us. We believe adoption is an opportunity to partner to create something beautiful and special, and we're honored to be considered in such an important decision. We hope this helps you get to know us, and learn about our life and dreams for our family.

Adoption in Our Lives

Our Family

Adoption has been the greatest blessing to us and to our family. After getting married, we tried to conceive, but had a miscarriage, followed by years of infertility. After rounds of failed fertility treatments, we were told that we wouldn't be able to have a biological child...God had even better plans for us. After spending time in prayer and discussing as a couple, we chose to close that door, and to move forward with adoption.

Seeing our son, Hank, for the first time was the best day of our lives. We can say with 100% certainty that our purpose was to be his parents. And we would go through all the hard stuff 1,000 times over to be his Mommy and Daddy. We have a great relationship with Hank's birth mother, who we felt like we knew from our first conversation. We text and send photos, and we think the world of her, and plan to raise Hank with an appreciation for his story and his birth mother's decision.

We have always wanted children, and hoped to have siblings close enough in age that they can play and enjoy each other's friendship as they grow older. We also love that they will share a bond of having both been adopted, and we hope to raise them to have as much of an appreciation and respect for adoption and their birth families as we have.

Our Leisure Time

Homemade Biscuits!

We love being outdoors and being active. We love going to the beach, which is only a few hours away, where we fish, play in the water, and build sandcastles.

We also love going to the Texas hill country to hunt, ride around in the buggie, fish in the pond, and enjoy the country life. We both enjoy archery, and plan to teach our children the discipline and fun of shooting a bow and arrow.

When we're at home, you can find Christan cooking or baking homemade bread (which is a new favorite hobby), listening to music, going on walks with Hank and Cooper, working in the garden, or pushing Hank in a swing in the backyard.

Andy Lifting Weights

Andy is a fitness enthusiast and loves to lift weights and run in the neighborhood. He loves to fish, and usually attracts attention at the beach catching a shark or two.

We have a great community within our church small group, and during the year meet every Sunday for Bible study and potluck dinner with all our kiddos. We've also made some amazing friends through Andy's gym and have pool days and beach trips with all our kids - we love that they are all amazing, strong people with big hearts!

We live close to Christan's family, so almost every weekend we are either hosting dinner or swimming with cousins. Family is #1 and we are so grateful our kids will grow up close with their grandparents and cousins.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Best Friends

Christan About Andy: Andy does everything with his whole heart. Anything he puts his mind to, whether it's woodworking, a presentation, or doing a cannonball into a pool, he does it with 100% gusto. While there are times that this can end up comical, his spirit and enthusiasm is what I admire most about him. Andy loves anything adventurous and outdoors - hunting, fishing, skiing, mountain biking, weight lifting, and even competed in the CrossFit Games a few times. I know he will teach our kids to be courageous and bold, to try new things, and to not be afraid of failure. Getting to see Andy as a dad has made me love him even more than I already did! He's a super hands-on dad, and loves finishing up the day spending time on the floor with Hank, singing him songs, bath time, and teaching him new skills. He is the best Daddy, and I feel so blessed to be alongside him as our family grows.

Andy About Christan: Christan is such a nurturer and supporter. She loves to do things for me and our families, like cooking and hosting everyone over (she's an excellent cook, by the way). She has a fierce belief in "family first" which is a tenet for life and for our own family. She is active, vibrant, and one of the most resilient people I know. Christan is an amazing mother, equal parts nurturing, patient, empathetic and loving unconditionally. The happiness Christan exudes as a mother is obvious to all. As a mother she will help guide and support our family and I'm so proud to have Christan as my wife and mother to my children.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We built our dream home in 2021, and planned every detail with the vision of what we dreamed of for our family. It's in a quiet, country setting, set on an acre with lots of trees and deer that wander the neighborhood. The house has 4 bedrooms, a wide open living space, and a big backyard with lots of trees for a tire swing. During the framing phase of the build, we even went room to room and wrote verses on the beams, and prayed and dreamed about all the love and life we hoped for our home. The area is very safe, and in a great school district. The neighborhood has a park, pool, nature trails, a fishing pond, and activities for the kids like Cocoa with Santa, golf cart Christmas parades, and Easter egg hunts. It's the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows and watches out for one another. We can't wait for our home to be filled with even more love!

Our Extended Families

Fun With Gigi & Cousins

We feel blessed to have great relationships with our families, and they both live fairly close. Christan's parents (Dede and Moose) and her brother's family, both live in the same small town as us. We love having them all close, having "Sunday Supper" together, and swimming at Christan's brother and sister-in-law's house. Christan's side of the family embraces their Cajun side, and have a tradition of what we call "Cajun Christmas," with gumbo, etouffee and other goodies every year, as well as crawfish boils in the spring. They are also big on the outdoors, and we all head to the Texas hill country several times per year to hunt, fish, and live the quiet country life. Andy's family lives about 3 hours away, so we make every effort to see them during the holidays, long weekends, and plan family vacations together. They are such a fun bunch, high-energy, and you can always count on a living room dance party or nail painting session with Andy's nieces. Andy's family loves to ski, and we usually plan a big ski trip every few years, although Christan still hasn't quite made it out of ski school!

Hank & Cousins

Our parents, nieces, and nephew, know first-hand what a blessing adoption has been to our family. Everyone adores Hank and they are so thrilled for another baby in the family. There's no shortage of love and attention from this crew!

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We hope that it helped you get to know us better, and we hope to eventually get to know you as well.

We know that this must be incredibly hard, confusing, and scary. The character and strength to consider this for your child is so admirable. We pray for you every day, specifically that you feel supported and cared for, and that in whatever decision you make, that you feel a deep sense of peace and confidence in that decision.

We promise with everything we have that this child will be loved beyond measure. We can say with 100% certainty that we won't take this child or the opportunity to be their parents for granted, not for a minute. Our son, Hank, who was adopted, has been our greatest blessing, and we still pinch ourselves that we get to be his Mommy and Daddy. We daydream and talk about all the things we want to do and experience as a family and with this child - bedtime stories, making Christmas cookies, helping them reel in their first fish, building sandcastles, teaching them how to ski, and watching them swing from a tire swing in the backyard. And we can't wait to see who they grow up to be - their personality, their interests, and watching them grow into a courageous, kind, and loving adult - like us, and like you.

We promise to talk about and celebrate their adoption story - that they would know that because of your strength, we were able to come together and create a family, and that they are so very loved. We promise to keep in contact as much as you are comfortable with, whether that is sharing photos and letters, or making visits.

We have been married for seven years, and through that time we have been through a lot. We've moved three times, lived in another country, experienced years of infertility, built our first home, and become first time parents together. We've encountered things very well known to test a marriage, and yet, our relationship has remained steadfast. Our faith has grown stronger as well as our marriage, and we are a team until the end. It's important to us that our child feel a sense of stability and security, and that we are an example of a healthy and happy marriage and home. We will create a life and memories that they will cherish and take with them into adulthood, and into creation of their family one day.

Adopting our son, Hank, has been the biggest blessing in our lives, as well as for our extended family. We have a great support system of friends and family who have been praying along with us as we build our family. They are all so excited and anxiously waiting to celebrate with us and love on this child.

Thank you again for learning more about us. We are honored to be part of this journey, and hope to get to know you. We pray that in whatever decision you make, that it is one that gives you peace.

Much love,

Andy & Christan
