Ben & Stephanie

Being parents has been the most amazing, humbling and rewarding experience we have ever had. We believe showing love and mutual respect for each other is a very important part of helping our children develop into responsible, respectful and caring people. We are so excited to be able to grow our family through adoption again. We want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to share more about our life with you.

Adoption in Our Lives

Our Little Family

We feel incredibly blessed to have been able to welcome our son Weston into our family through adoption. We were chosen by his birth parents just a month before his due date and we were able to build a wonderful relationship with them both in the time before he was born through emails, texts and phone calls.

Fortunately, we were able to get a room in the hospital after he was born. For the two days he was there, we got to spend a lot of time bonding with his birth family and we treasure every minute that we had with them. We consider his birth family as a part of our own extended family. We still keep in touch with Weston's birth parents and update them regularly through videos, pictures and occasional emails.

Our son has a keepsake box with sentimental items from the hospital, things from his birth parents and a diary we wrote about our adoption journey. From the beginning, we wanted to adopt twice so that our children would have adoption in common. We are hoping having that common ground will help lead them to supporting each other and building a lifelong bond.

We are so excited to expand our family through adoption again, and are looking forward to the next chapter in our adoption journey!

Our Adventures

On Top of Coba Temple

We enjoy traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. We try to make time for a vacation at least once a year. Many of our trips are to Mexico with it being a short and easy flight from Colorado. While traveling, we enjoy being active and go on adventures like kayaking, spelunking, ziplining and exploring ancient ruins. We are lucky to have been able to climb to the top of Coba, an ancient Mayan temple in Mexico, before it closes to the public.

We have both lived overseas, which allowed us to travel easily throughout Europe and other continents. The most intense adventure we have been on was a walking tour in an underground cave where recent rains had flooded the exit. In order to get out of the cave we had to float backwards through a narrow canal that had only six inches of air between the water and the cave ceiling. A few of our favorite places that we have visited so far are the Roman Colosseum and the Swiss Alps. We are very excited to be able to take our children with us on many adventures in the future.

    Our House and Neighborhood

    Our Home

We recently moved into a new home in the same town we have been in for over a decade. We own a home on a 5-acre property, about 20 minutes outside of the city in a small close-knit community. We live in a forested neighborhood which gives us privacy, great views and keeps us close to nature. Living in Colorado gives us a chance to enjoy many different activities in the various seasons like hiking, biking and sledding. We love spending time outdoors and exploring as a family.

Our neighborhood is very safe and friendly with a wonderful elementary school less than two miles away from our house. Our local mom's group and school PTA put together many fun activities and events for the children year-round that receive lots of community support. Every year the elementary PTA puts on a fall festival with a trick or treat street, bouncy houses, cake walks and tons of exciting games. We also have a wonderful park with playgrounds and a baseball field in the middle of town. The town hosts most of our community events at the park which include music festivals and holiday celebrations. We are looking forward to taking our children to many of these great local events each year.

    Our Extended Families

    Vacation With the Cousins

Ben has one younger brother and Stephanie has one older brother. Stephanie's brother lives less than an hour away with his wife and their two kids. We get together with them once a month for a family gathering where we either hang out at one of our homes or go out and do a fun activity. We are excited that our children will get to grow up having a close relationship with their cousins.

    Fun With Family

Ben's brother also lives less than an hour away and we try to see him once a month as well. He enjoys spending time with our son as much as possible and adores him to pieces.

The rest of our extended families live out of state. We try to make time every year for a trip to go visit, alternating between our families each year. Both of our families are ecstatic to have another child to shower with love.

    From Us to You

We are so grateful that you want to learn more about us. We can only imagine how challenging this decision must be for you. We are eager to share more about ourselves with you to help you choose the perfect parents for your child. We started dating in 2013 and had always talked about having children once we were married. After we got married in 2017 and were ready to start a family, we came to learn that it may be impossible for us to have a biological child. We quickly decided that we still very much wanted a family and felt adoption would be a great fit for us and a wonderful way to start our family. In early 2020 we were blessed with adopting our amazing son Weston.

Before becoming a full-time mom, Stephanie ran her own interior design company that allowed her to work from home. Stephanie's new job as a stay-at-home mom is now the cornerstone of our family. Ben works as a software engineer. He usually works only four days a week and is able to set his own hours. We like the flexibility of being able to change his schedule to allow him to be a part of all our important family events.

We believe that being parents is the most important job we will ever have. We are both goal oriented and know that working hard and focusing on our goals helps us achieve them. We believe that instilling strong values and teaching respect for others helps create good character. Our goal is to teach our children how to become thoughtful, intelligent, independent and loving people. We are also very excited to learn from them and develop into better parents and spouses.

We would be very honored to welcome your child into our home with a sibling who was also adopted. We truly hope that having adoption in common will help foster a lifelong bond between our children. We know that our son will be an amazing big brother and we are eager to help him understand what an important role that will be.

We take the responsibility of being parents very seriously and our promise to you is that we will love this child unconditionally and give them the best life we possibly can. We will be open and honest about their adoption. We promise that you will not be forgotten. Who you are matters to us because we believe that family history and knowing where you come from are important. We will always speak kindly of you and make sure that this child knows that your decision was made out of love for them. Your child will always be a part of you, and we will gladly pass along any history and information that you wish to share with us. We are committed to remaining open to communication through letters, emails and video chats, if you desire. We intend to provide regularly updated photos and videos to show you that your child is happy, well taken care of and that you made the best possible choice for them.

Our hearts feel heavy trying to imagine how difficult this decision must be for you. We sincerely hope that we can bring some comfort to you by conveying more of who we are, how much we care about you and how much love we have to give to your child. You are giving a gift that is one of the most selfless and courageous that anyone can possibly receive. We want to truly thank you for considering us to be the parents who will love and guide your child to be the amazing person they are meant to be.
