Ahmad & Elena
Having the opportunity to adopt your child means the world to us. Our journey to this point has been a long and sad one, but the gift of adoption gives us hope that we will one day have the chance to pursue what both of us have always felt in our hearts and in our souls, that we want to be parents one day. We hope that you consider us!
Our Leisure Time
We enjoy a variety of different hobbies ranging from both physical to non-physical activities, while our favorite thing to do in the whole world is to see live music! In fact, we first met at a concert and Ahmad later proposed to Elena at a concert. Enjoying music together holds a very special place in our hearts and we cannot wait to share that with our future child!
We also like to go hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain (close to where we live) where there's a vineyard that we stop at after we're done with our hike as we're leaving the state park. This park lets you hike your way to the top of Sugarloaf, where they have an east-facing view and a west-facing view, where you can see beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We make a trip to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland at least once a year. We enjoy hiking and kayaking there, but our favorite thing to do is to rent a pontoon boat and stream our favorite music as we take our time going around the lake.
We love to watch movies, whether we are relaxing at home or at the movie theater. Our favorites include a range from action movies such as Avatar, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones, to romantic comedies like Love Actually and Eat Pray Love.
Lastly, we love eating at different restaurants throughout Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Annapolis. Our favorite meals include sushi, pho, and any Middle Eastern, Chinese, or Italian cuisine!
What It Means to Become Parents
To us, being parents means having the chance to raise a child, and watching him/her grow into a responsible and self-sufficient adult with a family of their own one day.
We were both raised with lots of love, and we have lots of love to give back. We can't wait to love our child, to take our child to different places, expose him or her to people from different backgrounds, different cultures, different foods and different ways of life. Travelling was, for both of us, something very eye-opening, which we want to introduce our child to, as well.
What we expect to like the most about being parents is to see the love in our child's eyes, to make him/her feel loved and cared for, safe and secure. We also can't wait to feel the unconditional love that every parent says happens once you have a child!

Our House and Neighborhood
We live in Montgomery Village, Maryland and we've been here for a little over two years. We live in a five-bedroom house, with 3.5 baths and plenty of yard space.
Montgomery Village is one of America's first planned communities, which was founded on the principle of people from various ethnic backgrounds living in the same community in peace, harmony and respecting each other. It's a very 'green' town with lots of trees and parks, bike paths that connect the various neighborhoods and pools.
One of the things we love about our neighborhood is just how nice our neighbors are. When we moved her a couple years ago, we had four different neighbors knock on our door just to introduce themselves and to welcome us to the neighborhood. We thought this was very special. There are also families raising young children in our neighborhood, so our child (your child!) would fit right in.
We also have a dog, a labra-hound named Roxy! Elena takes Roxy for her walk in the morning and Ahmad covers the evening shift. Just by being dog owners, we've met so many of our fellow dog owning neighbors, even ones that don't live on our street or close to it, but who've we've run into on our dog walks. These people are so nice that we've befriended two other couples whom we've had dinner and drinks with.
Our Extended Families
Ahmad has an older brother (Temel) and a younger sister (Nahla) who both live in Melbourne, FL. Ahmad's mom also recently moved to Florida after living in Maryland with Ahmad and Elena, and Ahmad's father passed away years ago. We love to travel to Florida to visit along with flying in Ahmad's nephews from Iowa and a niece from Tallahassee, Florida.
Elena's mom lives in Bulgaria (where Elena is originally from, whose father also passed away years ago) and she has an older brother (Anton) who lives in Germany with his wife and two kids, Aleksander and Victoria. Elena also has a niece (Yasmina) who lives in Bulgaria.
We try to see our families every two years max, whether that entails us flying to Florida or to Europe, or them visiting us. We last saw Elena's family 1.5 years ago when we spent Christmas in Germany.
Both of our families fully support us in the adoption process. They are very happy to see us on the road to becoming parents!
From Us to You
We'd like to thank you for the opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are Ahmad and Elena. We have been married for 10 years, but we've been together for 13.5 years. We love and respect each other very much and we hope to have the chance to share our love and our lives with a child.
We live in a single-family home in a wonderful suburb of Washington, D.C. Ahmad's mom also lives with us. We've been here for two years and we're here for the long haul. Our house has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, which is plenty of space. Our neighborhood is very green with lots of parks, lakes and tall 40-year-old trees. It's as picturesque as you can get!
Ahmad works as a Project Manager and manages the installation of fire, life safety and security systems throughout the entire Metro area. He loves his job! Although it's very challenging and lots of responsibility has been put on his shoulders, it only makes him want to excel, to do the best he can and to keep striving to do better.
Elena grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria. She came to the United States in 2004 and has since become a U.S. citizen. Elena works as a Contract Specialist for a company that sells and leases big office copiers and printers to large businesses. Elena is very organized, diligent and has a work ethic that's second to none! Hard work was instilled in her at an early age, and this shows in the quality of her work today.
Our journey up to this point has not been an easy one. We started trying to conceive in 2013. We started with having multiple miscarriages, all around the 9th - 11th week of pregnancy, never making it to the 12-week 'safe point.' We tried getting pregnant via IUI, unsuccessfully. Then we tried multiple cycles of IVF, all unsuccessful.
After lots of soul searching, we realized that we still wanted to be parents, but we were closing the door on infertility treatments. We now believe adoption is the path to us becoming parents and we are so excited to be on this journey. We dream of parenthood and cannot wait to start this next chapter of our lives together as a family!
Please know that if you choose us, your child will be deeply loved and taken care of for life. We are open to the idea of an open adoption, one where the birth mom/parents can have contact with the child. We would love to send letters/pictures to the birth mom/parents, to keep her/them posted on the child's development and growth over the years. We are flexible and all we want is to love and to raise your baby the best way we can, and to have you be a part of our lives, to whatever degree you are most comfortable with.
Thanks and with much LOVE to you,
Ahmad & Elena
