Kevin & Sarah
We are so excited and honored that you have taken the time to view our profile. We are a young family with a lot of love to give. We are looking forward to bringing another child into our joyous home and sharing all life has to offer with them. Thank you for considering our family for this amazing journey.
Adoption in Our Lives
Adoption is a very important part of our lives and has been for many years.
Before we tried to grow our family, we both discussed adoption as a path for us. After several years of struggling with infertility, we knew in our hearts that adoption was how we hoped to grow our family.
Our lives were forever changed when we adopted our son, Noah, in 2019. Being parents has made our life more complete and whole. It is the best responsibility in the world and although there are times it is hard we always get through them in a loving way and loving our family even more. We love being able to teach our son about every little thing since everything is new to him. We love watching him grow and learn, become his own person, and watching his personality develop. We are so excited and looking forward to bringing another child into our home and getting to teach them and watch them grow and learn in their own unique way.
Without the sacrifice and bravery of another person our lives wouldn't be as full as they are now that we are able to be parents. Adoption is more than just having a child in our lives, it's about bringing more family into our lives outside of just the child we adopt. We feel as if becoming a family through adoption puts us and our children at an advantage as they have so many more people who love them as unconditionally as we do and will.
Our Family Traditions
Our family tradition is making Saturday morning breakfast together. We all lend a hand in making french toast, waffles, or pancakes that we decorate with our favorite toppings. This is a special time where we get to slow down, relax, and unwind after a busy week. We also enjoy seasonal activities of berry picking in the spring, visiting the pumpkin patch, apple picking and hayrides in the fall, and driving to see the Christmas lights and decorations with hot cocoa in the winter.
We are lucky to have many traditions that we share with our family as well. Every year we spend a week at Christmas together on Sarah's family farm. We have a big potluck dinner at Great Grandma's, with all the extended family, and Sarah's father plays Santa for the kids. At Thanksgiving, we host both of our families at our home for a traditional turkey dinner and follow it up with games. We go on yearly family vacations to different destinations with both sets of grandparents, including our siblings families.
Cultural Diversity
No matter the cultural background of our children we make cultural diversity a part of their upbringing. We are fortunate enough to live in a city with a lot of diversity and even more fortunate to live in a school district that is the most diverse in the state. We surround ourselves with people of all cultures and backgrounds and learn about their traditions. We live in a city that celebrates all cultures with several festivals throughout the city. We attend these festivals and teach our son about the importance of cultural competence and learning and understanding other people's cultural backgrounds. Culture and heritage is important in understanding and learning where you and others come from and that is not lost of us as a multicultural family. We teach our son about the difference and similarities in all cultures and keep an open mind in trying new experiences and taking part in others traditions. It is important to us that we explore and celebrate the traditions all cultures have to share, and encourage our children to do the same.

Our House and Neighborhood
We live in Missouri on a quiet cul-de-sac in a city suburb comprised of young families as well as retired couples. The only car traffic in our neighborhood is from the local residents. We are all often outside with the kids riding bikes, playing in the yard, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, or walking dogs. It is a very friendly and supportive community who look after each other.
Our house is a split level home with an open concept allowing us to spend time together even when we are in different rooms of the house. We have several bedrooms so we are able to host Sarah's family when they come to visit. We have a large back deck that overlooks a creek and forested area behind the house where we enjoy having meals and watching sunsets and wildlife.
We have many public parks with playgrounds nearby and a nature sanctuary with a waterfall and hiking trail we love to frequent when the weather is nice. We belong to the local community center where we enjoy swimming and community events with friends and family.
Our Extended Families
We were both fortunate to grow up in extremely loving and supportive families. Both of our sisters are married with children. We have four beautiful nieces, close in age to our son Noah, who call us "YoYo" and "YaYa." We received these nicknames when our oldest niece was just beginning to talk and she was unable to say Aunt Sarah. It sounded like "YaYa" and Sarah's sister thought "YoYo" would be funny for Kevin and our niece caught on quickly so it stuck.
We love nothing more than spending time with our families. We both have large extended families with many cousins and their children. We gather with extended family for holidays and special occasions throughout the year. Kevin's family lives in the same city as us allowing us to enjoy many local activities together. Sarah's family lives within a days drive in the same state on a family farm. We enjoy spending time on the farm fishing, exploring the barns and pasture, watching for wildlife, and enjoying the fresh country air. Every Thanksgiving Sarah's family comes to our home and our families get together and spend time catching up, eating, and playing board and card games.
Both of our families are overjoyed to welcome another child into our home. They have been active and engaged in our daily lives and throughout our adoption journey. They will continue to be a strong support system for us and our children.
From Us to You
We are so honored that you have taken the time to read our profile and get to know us better. We admire the courage and strength it takes to make the decision to consider adoption. We imagine the decisions you are trying to make for you and your child are both difficult and unnerving. We are committed to opening our hearts and home to your child and loving them unconditionally with everything we have to offer.
We met seven years ago through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since. We truly enjoy each other's company, whether it be traveling and hiking or just cuddling on the couch. We were married 4 years ago on Sarah's family farm with the ceremony officiated by Kevin's father. Family is an integral part of both of our lives and we are eager to expand our family. After several years of trying to conceive on our own and being unsuccessful, adoption was a natural progression for us. We adopted our first child, Noah, 3 years ago and now that we are ready to expand our family we are choosing to adopt again. We have a strong conviction that love and family are not built on biology alone.
We simply cannot wait to welcome your child into our home and into our lives. Kevin has such a unique childlike enthusiasm that children are drawn to, making him the perfect playmate to children. Sarah is a happy spirit with a gentle and caring way that provides a strong support system for our friends and family. Noah has kind and gentle spirit and is overjoyed at the thought of being a big brother. We are excited to be provided the honor to teach, love, and explore all life has to offer for your child. We want to give them every opportunity to learn about different cultures of the world and discover their true self. We will always encourage them to be themselves and support them no matter the circumstance.
We look forward to a future where we are able to read bedtime stories, teach another child how to walk and talk, see the joy on their face when they explore the outdoors, and teach them how to love unconditionally. We look forward to a future full of traveling to new places and learning about the many cultures of the world. We look forward to bringing another child to the family farm and teaching them what life is like on the farm. We look forward to game nights with our family and friends while the children play together and make bonds and friendships of their own. We look forward to family gatherings during the holidays and watching our children play with all of their cousins and make life long memories and bonds.
We hope to have a strong relationship with you and keep in contact. It would be our pleasure to share photos, letters, and emails with you of your child's growth and milestones in their lives. We are also open to making arrangements to visit when the time is right, if that is your desire. We plan on speaking positively to your child about you and honoring your courage with our actions and words. Your child will know their amazing life story about your bravery and our gratitude and respect for your decision. You will forever be a part of your child's life and we cherish the responsibility of helping them realize their potential.
With love,
Kevin & Sarah
