Why We Chose Adoption

Our Family

Our family has two young children, Willis, who is 7 years old, and Beau, who is 4 years old. Both Willis and Beau are eager to embrace their roles as big brothers and are overflowing with excitement at the thought of welcoming a new sibling into our home.

Willis is kind, compassionate, and full of enthusiasm. He loves playing and watching sports, animals, and doing creative activities. Beau is an active and funny kid, who loves puzzles, dancing, swimming, and he is obsessed with anything his big brother Willis is doing. As a family, we love to play sports, go to parks, and create crafts and projects together. With Willis and Beau by their side, your child will be surrounded by love, laughter, and support from their siblings throughout their lives.

We have considered adoption as a family for a long time, as we struggled with unexplained fertility issues for years. It was extremely difficult for us to have our two children. It took several rounds of fertility medication for us to get pregnant with them and both were very challenging pregnancies for Lauren medically. Despite these challenges, we've always wanted to be a family of five, with three children. Over the past couple of years, we have tried to have a third child, but we have learned that it is not possible for us to do so. As we've always felt a completing call to adoption even before meeting each other, the fertility struggles we experienced in trying to have a 3rd child were the sign our family needed to pursue adoption now. We know that the right child is out there for us and that everything that has happened to this point is leading us to that child.

Our Leisure Time

Cooking Together as a Family

Cooking together is something that we do frequently as a couple and with the entire family. Working together to create delicious meals and then sharing those meals together as a family are some of our fondest memories. Our family is also very active and enjoys playing sports and being outdoors. We were both three sport athletes in high school and enjoy sharing that love of sports with our children. Brian coached sports even before having children, and we've continued to do so, including both of us coaching our son's youth basketball team. Our family also enjoys watching sports together, and we look forward to learning which sport and team our future child will be most drawn too.

Outdoor Movie Night

As a family, we go on walks in the neighborhood, play in our yard, and visit local parks and playgrounds. In the summertime, we enjoy water days in our backyard, and in the winter months, we enjoy sledding, snowball fights, and building snowmen. Watching movies as a family is something we all enjoy, and we especially love outdoor movie nights using our projector and outdoor movie screen as we sit around our fire pit making s'mores. Expressing our creative sides through crafts, art projects and science experiments is another activity we all enjoy as a family.

Community service is an important pillar in our lives, and we volunteer routinely at a local soup kitchen run by Lauren's mom. It is important to teach values of service and supporting our communities to our children.

Cultural Diversity

As prospective adoptive parents, we understand the importance of cultural diversity in a child's upbringing. Our family is filled with unconditional love, and we are fully supportive of discovering what makes each of us unique. Our daycare, school, and surrounding community reflect our commitment to providing a rich and diverse environment for our child to thrive in. The elementary school, where our oldest child attends and future children will attend, is one of the most diverse in a school district that prides itself on its commitment to diversity.

Our neighborhood is reflective of our community's overall cultural diversity. Just on our street, we have an interracial couple with two young children next door, a single father from Kenya with two teenage daughters across the street, and an Indian family with three young children 3 doors down from us. Beyond the educational environment, we are dedicated to ensuring that your child has opportunities to connect with peers of the same race. We will arrange play dates and ensure participation in activities with families who share your child's cultural heritage. By choosing our family, you can trust that your child will be embraced in a nurturing environment that values diversity, fosters cultural pride, and celebrates the richness of their heritage. We are committed to providing a loving and supporting home where your child can grow into their best self.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a four-bedroom home in suburban Central Pennsylvania. Our neighborhood is a close-knit community where we love to go on walks with our children and dogs. During our family walks, it's all but certain that we stop, play and catch up with neighbors and their children. We live in a calm, tree lined, community with mountain views, away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. However, we are just a few minutes away from anything you could need like restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Our outdoor space in our favorite part of our home, as we have a large fenced in backyard with a playground and tons of space where we can't wait to see a future child play and explore. We also love spending time in the driveway, where kids can play with our basketball hoop, sidewalk chalk, and power wheels.

The local elementary school is across the street from our home. Our community has dozens of parks with playgrounds and nature trails within minutes of our house, which provide endless opportunities for fun and adventure. Our neighborhood is full of lots of families with children of all ages, so in addition to his/her siblings, your child will have tons of opportunities to make friends. We are about 30 minutes from Hershey Park, Chocolate World, and Zoo America, which we regularly visit. Our home is also just a couple of hours from major cites like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. We envision trips with our children to historic monuments, museums, sporting events, and various other forms of entertainment those cities have to offer.

Our Extended Families

With G & Roro

We are blessed to have a close knit and supportive extended family, who are all excited beyond measure to welcome your child into our family. Lauren's parents, nicknamed "G" and "Roro" live only 10 minutes away from us and are incredibly loving and supportive parents and grandparents. Roro volunteers in our older son's 1st grade classroom every week and both grandparents attend our children's games and activities.

Brian's Family

We are also extremely close with Lauren's brother, Ed and his wife Caroline, who visit from Virginia often and FaceTime with our family frequently. Brian's parents, "Grandma Al" and "Grandpa Brad" live in a lakefront house in South Carolina. We will usually spend a week each summer taking advantage of all their community has to offer with an abundance of fun activities for children of all ages including boating, swimming in the lake, multiple pools, tennis, and golf.

We also have a group of close friends with young children that we consider family. Our families get together for visits, trips and other fun activities often. Our extended family and all of our friends are eagerly anticipating our new addition, who will be embraced with open arms and endless love.

From Us to You

We want you to know that we approach this journey with the utmost respect for you and the difficult decision you are facing. We cannot begin to imagine the emotions you must be experiencing, but please know that we admire your strength and courage. Your selflessness in considering what is best for your child is truly admirable, and we are committed to honoring your wishes and providing a loving and nurturing home for your child. We are here as much as you may need us to support you throughout the process.

We have always seen ourselves as a family of five, but unfortunately, we faced significant challenges in expanding our family biologically. After trying for several years, we are unable to have any more children, but our desire to complete our family with a third child has only grown stronger. Adoption has always been a passion for us, especially for Lauren, whose work as an attorney representing both birth mothers and adoptive parents has been incredibly fulfilling. Through her legal work in adoption, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of love and the joy that comes from creating families through adoption. Your child will not only complete our family but also fulfill our lifelong dream of expanding our hearts and our home through adoption.

Brian and I met during our first year of law school, and were immediately drawn to one another's shared values, outlook, and goals in life. We got married one week after our law school graduation, and we've been happily married for over 12 years. Our home is filled with fun and laughter, and we prioritize teaching important values and life skills to our sons, Willis, who is 7, and Beau, who is 4. Willis and Beau are beyond excited to become big brothers and will be the most loving, supportive, and protective brothers any child could imagine. Whether we're exploring nature, playing sports and games, or simply spending quality time together, we strive to create a nurturing environment where your child can grow, learn, and thrive.

We promise to provide your child with a stable, supportive environment where they can thrive and pursue their dreams. We will cherish every moment, celebrate every milestone, and always prioritize their happiness and well-being above all else.

We are committed to always being open with our child about their adoption story and the importance of your role in it. Your child's story will be cherished and celebrated as part of our family narrative. We are also committed to maintaining an open adoption with you, as you desire. We are open to do so through letters, emails, texts, FaceTime and regular visits. We will ensure that your desired presence and connection to your child are honored, valued and respected.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your precious child. We are filled with hope and anticipation as we embark on this journey together. We look forward to the possibility of welcoming your child into our hearts and our home and completing our family.

With heartfelt appreciation and warmest regards,

Brian & Lauren
