Mark and Aimee's adoption story

Adoption Story - Mark and Aimee's adoption story

We found Americans Adopting Orphans to be very helpful and resourceful in explaining the adoption process to us and getting things done in a timely fashion.  Even though we live in PA and they are based in WA, we have found them to be better at informing their clients and offering client-oriented service than even an agency closer to our home would have done.  The staff at Americans Adopting Orphans was very kind and responsive to our many worries and questions.  They are very concerned with the ethics of adoption.  They offer a variety of services that I know for a fact (after much research) are not offered elsewhere, and all at a very fair, competitive price.  We have nothing but positive things to say about the Americans Adopting Orphans staff.  They are truly one of a kind, and as our home study provider put it:  "Quite possibly the best agency in the U. S.

My first memory of our daughter was standing in a room and waiting, my heart in my throat, for the adoption officials to bring the babies in to the waiting families.  After all the waiting and hard work...we were moments away from being united with our precious little girl!  I was standing near an open door which led into the hallway that the officials would use to bring in the babies.  I peeked into the hallway and could see the nannies holding the children...and right away, my eyes connected with the most beautiful little girl, who was looking straight at me!  Our eyes locked and I just knew she was our Aria Joy!  The nanny caught me staring and she smiled at me, looked at our daughter in her arms, and pointed to me.  When the time came for the babies to be brought in, our daughter's name was called first, and the nanny held her out to me.  I had learned Mandarin before the trip so I said in Chinese "Thank you for helping us adopt our daughter!!!" to the nanny, and then my daughter put her little head on my shoulder and I rocked her, singing a Chinese lullaby to her as she fell asleep in my arms.  The nannies all cried, I cried, and our daughter curled into me and slept.  And a family was born.  I was not prepared for how willingly she became ours.  It seemed just too good to be true."
