Patricia's Adoption Story
With my first pregnancy, I had a c-section, so I used to rub my belly a lot. On Feb. 23, 2016, I felt the slightest bump, so I decided to take an at-home pregnancy test and, of course, it came back positive.
I was scared, being I was only 19 and on my second pregnancy. I sat for about two hours just thinking about what I should do. I talked to the father, and we both agreed on adoption. I called another adoption company first and then American Adoptions, and I instantly fell in love with Felicia Pham. She was so caring, and I felt I could trust her with anything.
As I began looking at adoptive families, I landed on Chuck and Amy. I read how this was Chuck’s second marriage and how he had a previous child and he and Amy were struggling with fertility. I read their careers and their opinions on my situation, and I finally was able to speak with them on the phone. They were so kind and respectful. They seemed so grateful that I was considering them. I met them on Aug. 18 at Long Horn Steakhouse and they met my little girl, Eva. She absolutely adored them as well.
I went into labor at 12:30 a.m. the next day and, because it was the middle of the night, they were the only ones I could call. They came at about 1 a.m. Amy so kindly watched my daughter as I was in a lot of pain. Finally the nurses came and took me back at around 9 a.m. to get my c-section. They asked me what I was having, and I said another girl. They gave me a spinal epidural and, finally, I wasn’t in pain. I couldn’t feel anything from the ribs down.
About five minutes later the doctor shouted, “It’s a boy.” Here I thought the baby was a girl, but I looked over at his handsome little face as they handed him to Ms. Amy. The joy in her face was just the reassurance I needed to know I was doing the right thing. I will forever be beyond grateful to them. They are my blessing. They will always have a special place in my heart. I pray for their family every day.
Thank you to American Adoptions for helping me find them and Felicia!
